/ About the project
This project explores how form, material, and tactility can shape user experience beyond the digital screen. Ajouré is a set of interactive “buttons” created with aluminum wire frames enveloped by spandex and nylon yarn. While minimal in form, the interaction is rich: the user presses, twists, or pulls the fabric-filled structures, creating a playful yet intimate engagement.
Rather than designing a static object, the focus was on designing a sensory experience—how texture, resistance, and elasticity can evoke emotional responses and invite exploration. Each interaction was prototyped to balance structure and softness, offering feedback through material behaviour and subtle resistance.
Inspired by jewelry, tensile fabric structures, and organic forms, Ajouré embodies qualities of lightness, delicacy, and preciousness. It moves beyond function towards an experiential object that communicates emotion through touch.
